by Dan Hlad

First off, the staff and board of the Cleveland Lesbian-Gay Center would like to take this opportunity to address the many people who made our annual Garden Party fundraiser a huge success on July 21. Thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers, in-kind donors, auction item donors, and attendees for your support and generosity.

pm and qualified adult advisors will be present.

The next event will be a coffee house at West Shore Unitarian Church, 20401 Hilliard Blvd in Rocky River on August 20 from 7 to 10 pm. This event will feature the magic of Eric Brouman and much more. Any youth event is open to people 22 and under only. No drugs or alcohol are permitted at these events. For more information, call the Center at 216-522-1999. The Center is finalizing schedules for this fall's adult education classes, support groups, and other events, so keep an eye out for information surrounding these services.

Also thanks to John Farina and Bill Tregoning, who displayed a great deal of leadership, creativity, and patience to create a wonderful event. We must also thank American Express Financial Services for their corporate support of this event. This was the most successful Garden Party yet, thanks to all who participated.

Community Service Center

The Center staff is now busy working on events for this fall. Lots of things are already in the works.

Lately we've been concentrating on offering more activities for gay, lesbian, and bisexual youth. Two events have been planned for August. The "Come Out Young and Proud" event series will kick off this Sunday, August 4 with free dancing, food, and fun at 5¢ Decision, 4365 State Rd. in Cleveland. The event will run from 4 to 10

Also, those who are confused about recent information on AIDS treatment should check out the Living Room's presentation by Dr. William Ruby of Akron City Hospital. He is bringing information from the International AIDS conference in Vancouver, and you'll have the opportunity to ask questions. This happens at the Center on August 10 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

The Lesbian-Gay Community Service Center of Greater Cleveland is located at 1418 West 29th St., near the corner of Detroit Ave. For information on any Center event, please call us at 216-522-1999.
